Implant Training for General Dentists in Chicagoland

Most implant continuing education happens in a hotel ballroom or a lab — a typodont in front of you and a surgeon on a screen. MIAE teaches inside a working practice in Bensenville, Illinois: the same operatories where the cases are actually treated, with the same team, on the same equipment.

That is the whole premise. You watch a case planned, executed, and restored in the room where it happens, then leave with the workflow and the practice systems that make it repeatable.

Where you train

Courses are taught at the Midwest Center for Dentistry and Implants, a fully digital practice at 545 S York Rd in Bensenville. Cohorts are capped at twelve, so everyone is at the chair rather than behind a crowd.

During live surgery you observe directly at the chair in small rotations. Dr. Patel performs all surgery with his own surgical team; attendees do not assist in the surgical field. Hands-on participation is in PRF draw and processing and in digital capture.

Getting here from anywhere in the Midwest

Bensenville borders O'Hare International, which makes this one of the easier CE trips in the country — a direct flight from most of the map and a short drive to the practice. Driving, Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, and Indianapolis are all inside half a day.

Who trains here

General practitioners, at two points in the arc. Dentists ready to place their first implants who want to start correctly rather than unlearn habits later. And dentists already placing who want to move into full-arch work, digital workflows, and the systems to carry the volume. Our first cohort ranged from new graduates to clinicians thirty years in practice.

What the curriculum covers

Case selection and diagnosis. CBCT interpretation and prosthetically-driven digital planning. Incision design, flap management, and implant position by the numbers. Live single-tooth and full-arch surgery. PRF and regenerative protocols. Prosthetic workflow and complications. And the practice-side work most clinical courses skip — finding implant cases among the patients you already treat, presenting them, and scheduling surgical days that don't break the rest of the week.
